Summary
- Your sprint times, training history, and profile are stored only on your device — we don't operate a server and can't see this data.
- Camera and photo access are used only for features you explicitly choose to use (Camera Gate, saving a session card).
- If you choose to sign in with Apple, we store a small amount of account information locally on your device to remember that you're signed in.
- We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for tracking.
Information we collect
Stored only on your device
The app stores the following locally on your device, and it is never sent to us or anyone else:
- Sprint times, distances, and dates you record
- Your profile name, bio, and photo, if you choose to set them
- App settings and preferences (units, sound, haptics, etc.)
Deleting the app removes this data. You can also delete your activity history at any time from the Activities tab, or export it as a CSV file to keep for yourself.
Camera
The app requests camera access only for the Camera Gate feature, which uses your device's camera to detect when you cross a marked line, for timing purposes. Camera Gate does not record or store video — it processes the live camera feed on your device in real time and captures still frames only at the moment of a detected crossing, which are saved to your device's local storage as part of your session (not uploaded anywhere).
Photo Library
The app requests photo library access only when you choose to:
- Set a profile photo, or
- Save a generated session summary card to your Photos library.
We do not access your photo library for any other purpose.
Sign in with Apple
If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple provides the app with an opaque identifier for your Apple ID, and — only the first time you sign in — your name, if you choose to share it. This information is stored locally on your device to remember your signed-in state. We do not receive your Apple ID password, and if you choose to hide your email from us, Apple's private relay handles that automatically. You can sign out or delete your account information at any time from the Profile tab.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not see or store your payment information — Apple's own privacy policy governs that part of the transaction.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Because sprint data, profile data, and settings are stored only on your device, we have no ability to share what we don't have.
Data Retention and Deletion
Since your data lives on your device, you're always in control of it:
- Delete individual runs or all activity data from the Activities tab.
- Delete your account information (Sign in with Apple) from the Profile tab.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
SprintSpeed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
